Jonathan Bejarano

Cybersecurity Student

Pima Community College

Technology introduces problems that, if ignored, can range from being a slight inconvenience to catastrophic. Researching and solving these problems is what interests me, allowing me to learn and use what I know to help others.

AZ Cyber Initiative

2022-Present

My first introduction to cybersecurity was back in high school during AZ Cyber initiatives first boot camp. Since then I’ve stuck with cybersecurity, always learning about something new, and am currently pursuing a bachelors degree for it.

I’ve publicly spoken at events to help teachers and students understand the opportunities out there and the importance of cybersecurity for keeping our nation secure.  I’ve also spoken at a fundraiser for U.S Cyber initiative to explain the importance of cybersecurity education for high schoolers and the impact their programs have had on me.  In the summer, I like to help out as an instructor, teaching and introducing students to cybersecurity in the boot camps.

Website Development

2021-2022

Initially, I built a website to learn and see how affiliate marketing could work. Interested in investments, and finance, I was developing a blog to share what I knew about that in highschool, and planed to use things like affiliate links for some side cash.

Eventually I got the idea to develop websites for local businesses and proceeded with that for a while.

Gameplay Programming

2020-2021

Used game development to better my understanding of how to program, and reinforcing programming fundamentals.

Previously I had learned the basics of Javascript and python, but I preferred C++ because of it’s syntax and ability to be used in Unreal engine.
